Firstly, I placed an order with Fineflora on 8 May for their Vintage Flower Bouquet. This was advertised to be "Full of lovely colour, the flowers are arranged by the florist in a vintage style bouquet and include roses, lisianthus, chrysanthemums and carnations." The main reason for my choosing of this particular product was due to the carnations that was represented to be included in the bouquet was it was parents' day in my culture and it is customary to give carnations to your parents.
Now, what was delivered was nothing like what was shown and described on the website but a bunch of red alstroemeria, blue hydrangea, some white daisy type variety and another purple flower. Therefore, this was certainly not as described contrary to the Sale of Goods Act 1979 ('SGA 1979'). The lack of carnations would also render them unfit for purpose under the SGA 1979.
Then, my parents found some remnants of rotten leaves amongst the foliage of the bouquet. Imagine my, and more importantly, their disappointment at receiving such below quality product. This, with its unsatisfactory quality is also in breach of the SGA 1979.
