Bunches was established in 1989 by a couple selling flowers on their local market. A year later, they started delivering and the company has since become one of the market leaders in the field of flower delivery.
Quality and range
On their website, you will find a wide range of bouquets on offer, mostly composed of traditional blooms such as roses, freesias, and carnation. The company is committed to proposing quality flowers for an affordable price, and certainly does well in this regard. We found the Flowers by Post to be excellent value for money, with most bouquets between £15 and £20 including delivery, personalised message, flower food, and free chocolate treat.
Some flower arrangements do tend to look a bit similar while browsing the categories, however, because they often use similar blooms. This may make Bunches be less attractive than its competitors, despite eye-catching high-resolution pictures of the bouquets on offer.
It is easy to find the right flower arrangement or gift thanks to the option to search through their catalogue by price, type, colour, or occasion. The free milk chocolate treat sent with each flower order is a particularly nice touch to make the recipient feel extra special. A variety of add-on items are available to upgrade your gift.
For someone special, or if you want to treat yourself, the exclusive Elegance Luxury Flowers range is the place to look, although with only six bouquets to choose from choice is quite limited. We found products in the Hand Tied Bouquet category particularly pretty and arranged with care.
Website and services
Although customers can browse flower arrangements by price range, there is no “low to high” display tool, which is a real shame. The option to browse flowers by colour, on the other hand, is a welcome feature for customers to choose the perfect bouquet. The search feature by occasion is helpful for customers who come to Bunches to browse without a clear idea of what they want.
The hampers section of the website is quite easy to navigate and contains a detailed breakdown of the items hand-picked for each gift basket. As opposed to the bouquets, which are delivered for free via Royal Mail, there is a fee of £7.50 to deliver hampers. You can chose the delivery date and add a personal message directly on the online order form.
By joining the Bunches community and following their blog, you can keep up-to-date with the latest offers and seasonal flowers. Sign up to collect Posy Points with every order and get money off your next purchase with their reward system, and try the subscription feature to give or receive fresh flowers at home every month.
