NextFlowers offers high quality plants, flowers, bouquets and trees, delivered to your door. You can choose from letterbox deliveries (the flowers are literally delivered through your letterbox) or free next day delivery, with plenty of gift options available through the usual Next channels.
Next is a recognised and trusted brand in the UK, famous for their quality and value for money, primarily selling clothes and gifts. This has extended to their flower ranges, now available online, which offer more than just flower bouquets. In fact, we were pleased to see potted orchids and trees, as well as outdoor plant options. We’ll come to those shortly, but for now let’s focus on the flower deliveries.
Cost and delivery
Prices are fair and competitive, with small pots coming in at around £20, bouquets at approximately £25-35, and larger bouquets costing around £40-50. Whilst £20 is quite affordable, especially since it includes delivery, it would be nice to see a couple of cheaper options available for people who only have £10-15 to spare.
Next day delivery is free for most bouquets but they cannot guarantee delivery time. Booking a next day delivery slot on the weekend requires that you make the booking by midday, whilst 8pm is the cut-off time for weekday deliveries. Letterbox flowers are posted through the door in a protective box, but their delivery is by Royal Mail first class and will therefore be delivered within 2 days. This may not be ideal for a range of events, such as birthdays, as it’s important that your gift arrives on time.
When buying a bouquet or plant, you can also attach a message or buy a gift card, which is a nice personal touch. If you’d prefer to visit a store to view items and buy them (you can then deliver them yourself or arrange for delivery) then this is also possible. Online, you can upgrade your bouquet to include chocolates for just £4 extra. Wine and flower bundles are also available at an affordable price.
There are several less common plant options to choose from on Next Flowers, including olive and bay trees, or orchids. These are attractively potted, and the site’s Garden Plants pages provide even more choice, including ornaments. These pages include a “flowering now” option which shows the range of flowers available during the season of your purchase, extending the options a little further.
Next offer a steady service with quality flowers and pots. Their lack of a delivery guarantee is a little unsettling, though, and their range isn’t as extensive as some other flower delivery services. Still, they do offer attractive bouquets and plants (including outdoor options such as trees) and their pots appear to be matched to the plants and flowers very effectively.
If you’re looking for a plant or bouquet which won’t break the bank, but you also have a little more than £20 to spend, Next Flowers is worth checking out. Their options may be a little limited but they’re good at what they do. If you absolutely need your flowers delivered for a particular date or time, however, you may wish to first contact their customer services team or visit them in store.
