Having researched on the internet for an Online Company to order some Valentines Flowers from that appeared to offer a fairly decent range at reasonable prices I opted for Appleyard Flowers.

I Placed an order on the 4th February to 2 Valentines Bouquets (100 Roses and a Goddess Bouquet) to be delivered to my Wife on Valentines Day.

On the 13th Received a dispatch confirmation, so assumed everything was all ok.

Valentines Day arrived, and earlier afternoon 1 box was delivered containing just the Roses, which were ok, though I wouldn't say they were anything fantastic.

As soon as I realised that the Goddess Bouquet hadn’t been delivered I contact Appleyard Flowers via their online Chat. Where I spent over 2 hours messaging one of their advisors (Cindy). She assured me that they had been dispatched and that they would be delivered on Valentines Day. I Challenged her over the fact that if they had been dispatched separately then surely, I should have received 2 tracking/dispatch notices? She firstly replied by saying no this was not the case. Then after a short while she furnished a second tracking number. To which I duly checked whilst online and it was quite clear it had only just then been booked, and that they hadn’t even been collected by the courier. So it looked extremely unlikely to be delivered the same day. Which I then raised with her.

She then tried to blame the fact that they hadn't yet been dispatched was because they were out of stock. I then questioned how if I ordered them 10 days previous, the bouquets wouldn’t have even been arranged at that point. How can the reason now be that they now out of stock??

After a discussion over that excuse. I was then told it wasn’t Appleyard’s fault as the order are passed onto third parties to actually arrange & supply the flowers. I then pointed out that the order I placed was with Appleyard, therefore meaning the contract is between myself and Appleyard, not the third Party. It is Appleyard's responsibility to ensure they fulfil their customers orders. So, we had another little disagreement over this.

Anyway, after a while she tried telling me I was wrong and not to worry the flowers would definitely be delivered on Valentine’s Day as order. As it was apparent I wasn't getting anywhere, I had to just accept and wait and see.

Surprise Surprise – NO Goddess Bouquet delivered on Valentines Day!!!

The following morning I re-checked the tracking No. and the Flowers had still not been dispatched/collected by the courier.

So I proceeded in contacting Appleyard Flowers via an email and requested an explanation to the blatant lies I was given via the Online Chat the day before. I also requested a full refund. Appleyard did respond to my email fairly promptly to inform me that I was being refunded for the Goddess Bouquet. However, there was no attempt to explain the lies, nor was there any attempt to compensate us for the inconvenience, the vast time wasted contacting Appleyard where we were fed a load of lies and excuses from Appleyard, or the fact that my Valentines Surprise was partially ruined and a dampener put on the whole day.

It would appear Appleyard took on far too many orders at a busy time of the year, and failed to contact their customers in advance that they were experiencing issues. Even the Online Chat Advisor admitted they were experiencing extremely high level of Issues. They try & fob off their customers with lies & when they are really challenged they just ignore the emails. I guess they feel that by refunding the customer for something the customer didn't receive they have put it right. But this is not the case, customers are left disappointed on Special One off days.

My advice would be to avoid Appleyard Flowers, especially at busy times of the year like Valentines Day.

In summary, I would not recommend Appleyard Flowers to a friend.
